CetaMada

The international association for the observation and protection of whales

CetaMada was founded with the purpose of studying humpback whales to obtain information to be implemented in conservation strategies and to make the general public and the local population aware of the issues involved in the conservation of these marine mammals. CetaMada has cooperated with the local authorities to compile a list of regulations to avoid or reduce any harm or stress to the animals during whale watching activities: speed must be reduced within 300 meters from the animal, the individual must be approached from the rear side and it is strictly forbidden to touch or swim with the whales.

From 1st July to 30th September the PRINCESSE BORA LODGE & SPA, in association with CetaMada, organises whale-watching excursions for its customers. It represents a unique chance to discover and experience the behaviour of these impressive marine mammals.

Accompanied by eco-volunteers you will leave by boat from the beach of the PRINCESSE BORA LODGE & SPA to observe humpback whales during four hours time (either from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. or from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.).

During this 2010 period and for a minimum stay of 3 nights, 2 whale watching excursions are already included in the room rates.
