zebu-cart. Owned by François-Xavier Mayer, whose family has been on Ste Marie
for over two centuries, this beautifully designed new hotel with bungalows
for two or four people has been recommended by several readers. “Can’t recommend
this place enough.
The food (3-course set dinner) is superd. François is passionate
about conserving whales in this part of the Indian Ocean and runs serious whale-watching

The hotel runs a private plane
service from Tana in the high season (700,000Fmg one way). Mountain bikes for
